The story
The year: 2113. The world is in chaos. Evil has taken over. Years have passed since the Prototype experiment was shown to the public. People stand divided on what should happen to the victims of the experimenting. Some said save them, others wanted them destroyed. Unable to trust the humans, the prototypes and experiments went into hiding, until now. On the eve of the first project, Project P.R.O.T.O.T.Y.P.E. a new threat was reported. No one knew what it was, until it was to late...

"DNA Laboratories," it read in bold lettering.

It seemed like a dream come true for some. Two labs that would do something about the Prototypes and experiments. Some hoped they would be cured, others hoped the labs would kill them and see where it went wrong. But DNA Labs wasn't interested in killing or saving the experiments. Its goal was to make everyone suffer just as the victims. Upon hearing about this lab, the Prototypes took an interest in it. Some vowed vengeance against the scientist and humans. Others didn't want to be apart of it, and just wanted to be left alone.

Those who joined with DNA labs found themselves filled with new power. Daring to try out their new powers, they attacked military forces and security forces, putting fear into everyone. Within months, the prototypes had gotten their revenge, but craved more. Soon, the world was under their control. Those who dared to stand up to them were tortured and executed in public. If they had a family, who was left was taken away by the labs and experimented on. The death toll sky rocketed.

An underground rebellion group formed, most consisted of humans, but it was extremely rare if an experiment joined them. The group vowed to take down the Prototype overlords and return the world back to normal. Or what is left of it. Those who oppose the rulers will be hunted down. They will have more to fear than just death.

Rules

Basics

1. Really, this is so obvious that it shouldn't even be stated, but for the love of God, follow the Gaia TOS, including the Rules & Guidelines.

2. Romance is allowed, as is violence. Other people may be interested in your character for their own goals, but whether you welcome them or not is up to you. Be warned, though, that your character's destiny might not end up what you want it to be.

3. Though fighting is allowed, auto-hitting is not. On the flip-side of the coin, though, you can't realistically dodge every attack thrown at you. Eventually, something will get through.

4. Do not post until I confirm your profile. If you are found to be posting before either of us gives the ok, you will be banned.

5. PM your profiles to me. The Co-owner is still working when he can come on and accept profiles.

6. People are allowed 5 profiles.

7. Label your pm's the following:

Posting

1. No blinding colors, such as yellow or cyan. Also, please refrain from using white. Unless you have a secret message (ex: The cake is a lie.).

2. Post at least three days a week. If you can't meet at least this goal, you might be better off focusing on what else has you occupied.

3. If you find out that you won't be able to post for a while due to any reason (fire, flood, alien invasion, etc), please let us know as soon as possible. Without prior notice, your character will be removed from the RP at the end of 2 weeks after your last post. You are not the only person RPing here, and you shouldn't expect everyone to wait on you.

4. I expect decorated posts, that means your character's picture, a good color if you want, and a decent size text. Preferably the default size, size 9 is also acceptable.

5. Anime pictures are preferred.

Literacy

1. NO TXT-TLK. Seriously, guys, what do you have against vowels, anyway? They make reading things so much easier!

2. Don't know how to spell a word, or if the word you're thinking of is the right word? There are tools out there to help, such as SpellCheck.net and Dictionary.com

3. You don't have to write a full 5-page essay on what your character is doing in every post. Honestly, we'd rather you not (though if you do, make sure you break up the paragraphs - it makes it easier to read). We also don't want to see one-line posts if at all possible.

4. If your character has a speech impediment or speech problem, or is simply uneducated, then it's fine to show that in their speech. But please try to use proper English where prudent.

5. We are not Grammar Nazi's, I don't expect perfect grammar from any of you, but please just do your best.

Respect

1. Jaydenn Kelvari is the king of this thread. Silver Death Okami Kyu is its queen. If you respect the rules as well as us, then there won't be any trouble.

2. Keep OOC troubles from interfering with the RP itself. If there's someone that you just can't stand, let one of us know so it can be taken care of.

3. We're all here to have a good time. Check your attitude at the door. Failure to comply with the rules will result in your being banned from the thread.

4. All sexuality is welcomed, there will be no bashing of anyone's sexuality, if there is a complaint about it, Jayden or I will speak to the person in question and personally ban him or her for 1-3 days, if it's light, or permanent if it's beyond rude.

Character Definitions:

Returning characters:
For those who were in my previous Project P.R.O.T.O.T.Y.P.E. Rp's I will be allowing a limited amount of past characters to return. To make things easier it could be said they were in a frozen sleep and was awoken in the year 2112. Or they age slowly compared to a human. or your character's story can be changed.

Prototypes:
Driven by rage and revenge, known to all as the first ones mutated. Used for military, medical and other purposes. Some don't have the thought of revenge, and wants to be left alone in hiding


Special Prototypes:
Limited Prototypes, these are rare Prototypes. Some might appear as a dragon, others might appear as a mythology creature. It is up to you if you want a special prototype, but even though they are special, they cannot control or freeze time, nor can they warp space, they are not gods.

The limit on special prototypes for now is 10, you may only have one. This is also done on a first come first serve bases. If things go well the limit will increase.

Prototype Overlords:
In leagues with DNA labs, these Prototypes rules the world through fear, violence, and death. It is unclear if these are the same ones from the past, or if these are new ones, or if both. Space is limited on these prototypes. They are tough and will kill without hesitation.

Experiments:
Often considered a doctor's or scientist's more loyal pet. They are more loyal to friends those close to them, they are more easy going towards humans, and the prototypes. Usually easy to follow an order, but will not always follow it. They will rebel if they feel threatened, they will run away as well. They will try to look on the bright side of things and will try and make friends.


Chimera/hybrid's:
Often a victim of cross breeding, or cross DNA exchange. These guys usually consist of two or 3 different animals. They are a bit more dangerous, but are prone to being a danger to themselves. Often reverting into a more Feral state, prone to kill anyone and anything that stand in their way. They are very hard to control, let alone tame, especially when they under go more experimenting.

Element holders:
These guys can be anything, human, prototype, hunter etc. Able to harness the power of an element such as fire and or water they can use it to their advantage. However, Shadow and darkness elements has not been perfected yet. Granted it has gotten better over the years, some still have doubts.

Androids:
Androids can be a mixture of things, such as a robotic animal, robotic human, a mixture of the two, etc. They have developed emotions and a brain of their own, but some are still controlled from a remote source such as a lab. Androids can go either way, in terms of being good or being evil. Some can help aide the run-a-ways or rebellion members to a hide out or to safety, on the flip side they can lead them into a trap for the hunters, scientist, etc.

Hunters:
Hired by laboratories, or by the rich or you may just want to hunt things. You are gifted with state of the art hunting technologies. You have one goal, hunt down your prey. You will be given different tasks most of them will be a non-kill task, simply hunt down the character in question and bring them to the person who wanted said character. You will hunt anything from humans to the prototypes who wants nothing to do with humans. To most you are seen as the police force. Respected and feared.

Humans
Often seen as the weaker species, on the brink of becoming extinct. Pain and death to live in fear, wondering when it will be your time to be experimented on or be put to death. When the time comes.. do you let yourself go.. or.. do you sacrifice your family instead in hopes you'd be spared?

Scientists
Insane, psychotic, cruel.. just three words that explains the scientist. Some are humans, some are experiments themselves and is looking for vengeance on those who hurt them in the past.

Doctors
Not as cruel and sadistic as the scientist, they're more interested in the one's in cells. The experiments. Some are a little nice towards them.

Underground group:

The rebellion group is made up both humans and experiments, wanting to set things right. They don't believe in what the over lords are doing and want them gone. They know the risk, if captured you're good as dead. But that won't stop them. Only those who wants a free world will be seen in this group.

Kyro Corp Information: Welcome to Kyro Corp Labs. We want to thank you for joining our team.

Kyro Corp is a state of the are lab that has found cures for most diseases, while it may look like a knight in shining armor, it does have its dark side. Created by Kyu, a Prototype who fell for a scientist. Unable to forgive herself for his death, she vowed she would continue his work. While she hates most scientists only those who are cruel enough will get her attention, but it's rare if she will have an interest.

While Kyro corp does help out people, the people also helps them. Some will give locations of where testing subjects might be at. Some people might inform them of known location of experiments or a prototype. Kyro corp, does seem nice, friendly staff, welcoming environment, clean rooms etc. But even then.. it's not always as it appears.

DNA Labs Information:

Welcome to DNA Labs..we do hope your stay doesn't end in death.

No one knows when DNA labs was established it or who founded it. A lot of the lab is shrouded in mystery and death. The sound of screams echoes from all ways. The smell of death looms, blood can be seen all over. Dread fills anyone who dares to enter pass the front doors, rooms are dark, littered with rats, bugs, molded food and dried blood.

No one knows when their time will be, escape is impossible.

When a person time comes, they are dragged off to the experiment room, code name ' death room.' Often tortured along the way, those who still has a strong will when they enter the death room, will soon often lose it during or after the experimenting. With only one day of rest, after the experiment, you will soon face judgement day.. Will you live or die? What is your fate?

Those who works at DNA Labs will often search for anyone worthy of being experimented on, they will kidnap anyone, even those of royal blood. Those who are of royal blood will often be used as a hostage to get money, but even then.. their safety is not guaranteed. With the money in their possession, the experiments begin..

Throughout the rp, at times you may come across old abandoned labs, some hold history, goodies, some may hold horrors and nightmares. Sometimes the lab will be empty, most of the labs is randomly generated, you won't come across the same lab twice in a row. But if it's one thing they all have in common... traps.

Everyone is free to make their own labs, to make your own just send me a PM with the following info:

-Label the PM with the name of your lab
-Lab name, full name
-Location(s) of the lab
-Is it just in one spot or does it branch out into other locations?

-Lab name: BioTek
-Location: Sub-basement of Azalea Appartments
-Main location: The main location is at the apartment. There is an escape tunnel to an old arcade two blocks away.
- Owner: Dr. Angela Negami
-What does your lab specialize in? Recombinant DNA, biotechnology, bioengineering, and gene splicing.
-Are you friend with Kyro corp, DNA labs, neither, other? Once apart of the DNA labs, Nagami only trades research and findings with a handful of Kyro Corp doctors in exchange for funding to one of her overseas accounts.
-Little bit of history: Very few doctors and scientists of the previous labs (from the last rp) knew about BioTek, and even fewer know it's location. It was made through Nagami's private funding and generous donations she had received. Though careful planning during the building process, the lap is practically self-sustaining. It has three floors below the apartment's basement. The entrance is well hidden and the lab itself has an AI security system.
-Anything else: Nagami owns Azalea Appartments under the alias Martha Durwall. Azalea Apartments is an upper-class residential building who's income helps support the lab and materials needed for Nagami to continue her research. Nagami found a cure for the K2 Virus here.

Powers, Shadow powers, rules of certain powers:

Powers:
Everyone is entitled to 2 powers, to make things fair for all. The powers consist of:

Fire

Water

Poison

Shadow

Earth

Wind/air

Grass

Snow

Ice

Psychic

Telepathy

If there is a power on here you wish to see, send me a PM. If you wish for dark powers, that will fall under shadow.

Shadow powers:
Shadow powers are limited, a person cannot constantly use shadow powers and not have an effect. That is abuse of the power. By limited, I mean, your character will have some sort of effect on him/her. Rather it's passing out for a short time, unable to use shadow magic for 5 of your posts, etc.However, if it's used in small doses, such as once in a great while your character will be fine. It's only if the power is constantly used or if used for to long then the effects will be in place.

Rules of certain powers:

Some of you might want the power of mind control, which is fine, but if there is someone you want to control, you will have to get permission from the person controlling the character. However, you cannot force a character to die. That is not your call. Just like with Shadow powers, whatever power(s) you get, they cannot be constantly used without your character under going some sort of effect.

For those who are returning, let me say, Welcome back, and for those who are new, let me say Welcome to the Prototype family! I'll be quick about things for those who are returning, there is a limit on how many past character's you can bring, for the time being I'll allow 2 past characters per person. If your character has multiple personalities, they will count as one character. You are more than welcome to change your chara's story as well as abilities.

Special Prototypes:
Special prototypes are rare, you won't find more of these.Often considered legends or myths. Special Prototypes ranges from fantasy beings such as dragons to mythological beings such as Cerberus. No one really knows what caused this mutation as some will put it. But what is clear is that there are eyes on these legendary creatures, from bounties to full out hunts with promises of big reward money.

Special Prototypes do have the ability to blend in with humans,which makes them even more harder to track down. They are often seen as solo beings, it is extremely rare if they work in a pack, or group. No one knows if these beings will side with the overlords, with the humans, or if they are neutral. But from legend,says ' when all of the legends come together, the world will change..."

New Haven City. Of course, where you start in the city is up to you.
The exception to this is, no one can start in the overlord's palace, except for the overlords. Aside from that, you are able to start in a lab or just roam around in the city.

Locations:

New Haven city: A broken city, ran by fear and greed, the starting point of the adventure. This is also where DNA Labs HQ is, also one of Kyro corp's buildings. At least two overlords rules this place.

Uptown: Welcome to uptown New Haven city. Uptown is well known for the rich life styles of the rich, famous, and overlords. While the rich do have their money, one slip up and everything can and will be taken away from them, unable to return to the good life, they either give up and let the labs experiment on them, live in downtown new haven, or simply they don't have the will to go on.

Downtown: Downtown New Haven, is a dangerous place. While there is forces of good there trying to make the world better, most people there have little to no hope. The local bar, " The Death Hand." is mostly ran by thugs but in hard times, it's the one place where people can actually feel free.

Overlord Palace: The Overlord Palace overlooks the entire city from its place in uptown. It is blocked off to most everyone, except for a select few. No one knows what goes on in the place, only rumors have started. " Once someone enters who is not there on request, or has permission. They are never seen or heard from again. Often at times, DNA trucks will be seen haling or transporting goods to the overlords. Even experiments are often seen begging for help and freedom. Same goes for any unlucky human.

Crescent Moon City: Death looms, ghostly cries, demented citizens. Demented labs litter this place. Unnerving feelings is constant, it is rumored that a DNA Lab is located in this area. The sun never shines, always dark and cold.

Luna City: Luna city is a broken down city which would be a prisoner's paradise, stealing is often as well as crimes. The police force has swallowed their pride and has asked Kyro corp for help. With the aide of the guards and other such services and weapons they have provided, the police once more is able to take down criminals, they do however, call in the guards for help. Luna city is famous for the first prototypes to escape the labs. It is home to many, and it is home to the experiments of human and animal crossing as well we Kyro Corp HQ.

Feriora:A place where technology isn't highly praised, people in this city prefer other means of communicating and getting around. Some would call it a small steampunk city, others calls it home. While there isn't any labs here so to speak, this town is rather quiet and content with the way of life.


Krontos:An all out neon like place, raves among other fun things happens here. This place loves technology, though the upper grounds is the place to be, underground is not. Black market schemes runs the underground where survival of the fittest is law. They say there are labs down here, the kind of labs that doctor's with PhD's shudder. A lot of shady activity runs in the veins of this underground place. Be warned, if you venture down into this underground place. You are more than likely to come back with something missing other than your money and other valuables.


Venom city: The name says all, Venom city is a place where poison is key, and so is being a criminal. There is no clean water and no clean air. The only relatively safe place is the labs but, can the labs be trusted? The water is toxic green, while the sky is a dark purple color.


Winter's Hallow:
A grim and eerie place to be, an abandoned snow town with a terrible history. Torn flags, ripped and trampled clothing, bones have been scattered among the ground and covered in the deep snow. Distant and low screams of fear and terror looms, as the homes are now rotting away. Door are broken as well as windows. Alone in this mess is a young girl, no more than the age of 4, she lives there and says not a word but just points in a certain direction, or at something. A look of fear and sorrow covers her face and eyes.
